Frequently Asked Questions
Mindset Rethink are keen to help address any queries which you may have, and you can always contact us by clicking here. However, we thought it may be helpful for you to look at some of the most frequently asked questions we get asked.
We will offer you a free consultation over the phone where we will discuss the issue and establish how this form of therapy can help. You will be offered the choice to continue or recommended other avenues if it is not appropriate for your problem.
This appointment will allow you the time to explain your difficulties and how it is affecting you in your life, we will discuss what you are hoping to achieve in therapy, and discuss the therapy contract. In the appointment we will draw together a care plan, detailing the number of sessions, costs and any other important details.
We will initially explore your difficulty, how it is impacting on your life and introduce you to the theory behind CBT so that you have a good understanding of how we can help you. We will collaboratively find strategies to challenge your thoughts and behaviours to help you cope with the issue in a more balanced and healthy way.
Evidence shows that during the initial stages it is important to meet once a week to understand the therapy and increase self-awareness. Eventually this can be stretched to fortnightly or three-weekly sessions. This is discussed in the initial consultation.
It can vary based on the person and the problem experienced, generally it can be from 12-20 sessions. We will agree on a fixed number of sessions during the initial consultation, and then review therapy regularly and collaboratively to plan ahead.
There is wealth of evidence to show how effective CBT is in treating various mental health disorders including anxiety.
It will be approximately 50 minutes long.
We can agree to have over the phone or face to face sessions.
It is not a quick fix and not for everyone. We will encourage you, but the motivation to change has to come from you. It is difficult to have motivation and concentration when feeling depressed, and facing anxiety-provoking situations can be stressful, however, we will guide you to overcome your fears and lift your motivation to gain control.
You will need to give us 48 hours notification to cancel an arranged appointment. You will be charged for missed appointments or cancellations with inappropriate notice.
